Flavio, was of Portugese heritage.His parents were citizens of Trinidad, W. I. He was born and raised in New York City. At the age of 18, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he remained the rest of his life. At the time F.D.R. was our President, Flavio, worked with the Works Progress Administration.
Honing his art skills on the job, while working on the Federal Arts Projects, he earned a B. A. Degree in Art Education in 1955, and taught painting and art history at L.A. Valley College.He was a professor for 30 years.

Cabral, presented one-man shows at numerous art galleries in Los Angeles. He also traveled with his show to Laguna Beach, New York, Chicago,San Francisco, and Mexico City.He was well received wherever he went, and had many followers.Getting rave reviews from the media, wherever he had a showing. His murals can be seen in various Federal Bldgs. His works created a sensation at the Bowman-Mann Art Gallery, in Beverly Hills.(1965)

Mr. Cabral, was cremated following his demise, in 1990.

"Flavio, lives in his painting, in books where he and his work is mentioned and, according to my knowledge of him, he is still more alive than ever in another dimension..."

He is survived by Louise, and their two sons.
