Dorothy Gertrude Kroening was born in Edgar, WI on December 31, 1925, a daughter of the late Mary (Ponzoch) and Joseph Kroening.
When she was a young girl, her family moved to Stratford where she spent most of her young life.
She was united in marriage to Leo J. Geiger on April 19, 1944 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. Dorothy was a homemaker all of her life.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was very active in the PCCW. Dorothy had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, picking cherries, gardening, canning, making jellies, and quilting.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Leo, of Loyal;
3 daughters: Sharon (Randy) Hendrickson of Neillsville, Lavon Lindner (Roger Ellison) of Loyal, Karen (Edward) Haslow of Garfield Heights, OH;
5 sons: Marvin (Karleen) Geiger of Marshfield, Alan (Carol) Geiger of Fort Wayne, IN, Vern (Donna) Geiger of Marshfield, Kevan (Michelle) Geiger of Brule, NE, Brian (Sarah) Geiger of Loyal;
30 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren;
3 sisters: Agnes Landwehr of Mosinee, Marcy Sitko of Mosinee, Loretta Masanz of Marshfield;
2 sisters-in-law: Henrietta Gundlach of Marshfield, Ethel Pupp of Wausau;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
her daughter: Carolyn "Cali" Geiger on June 27, 2002;
her son-in-law: Mike "Hunter" Lindner on January 8, 2002,
4 brothers: Bernard, Jerome, Melvin and Leon Kroening;
and 4 sisters: Irene Beyer, Marie Wurl, Margaret Kroening and Helen Dennee.
