John H. Starling, 93, of Belton died Saturday morning in a Temple hospital. Services will be at 3 pm Monday at the Sheffield Funeral Home in Temple with ministers Dick Goodwin and Ray Lawhorn officiating. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery.
He was born in Rogers to John H. Starling and Florence (Bryant) Starling. He had lived in Belton for four years and had resided in Temple for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a son, James C. Starling; three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are one son, John H. Starling Jr. of Temple; three daughters, Evelyn Starling and Vada Penny of Temple and Edith Mayes of Belton; two sisters, Myra Pickard of Temple and Alice Autry of Dallas; 18 grandchildren 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
