Eva Lavene Kirkpatrick, 95, of Lexington, Nebraska, former Overton resident, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014, at Lexington Regional Health Center.

Eva was born April 1, 1919, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Harry H. and Alice Leona (Hubbard) Wolfe. She attended school in Lexington. Eva was united in marriage to George “Shorty” Kirkpatrick on February 8, 1937, in Norton, Kansas. Two daughters were blessed to this marriage; Myrna Loy and DeeAnn Kay.

She was a stay-at-home mother until her daughters were grown and then took over as custodian for the Overton Methodist Church. Eva and Shorty moved to the Overton Funeral Home in the spring of 1979. Shorty passed away on December 23, 1981. Eva would continue to care for the Overton Funeral Home until she moved to Park Avenue Estates in Lexington in 2011. Eva did an excellent job and took great pride in her contributions to the church as well as taking care of the Overton families at the funeral home. The Reynolds family will be forever grateful for her care given to the funeral home and all the years she was a part of our family.

Eva was bestowed the honor of Grand Marshall of Overton Goodwill Days, a task she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved having a nice yard and caring for her flowers.

Eva was caring soul who loved her family very much and took great pride in her daughters and their families. She loved sending cards and notes to her friends and family. She so loved her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and their families.

Eva was a member of the Overton Methodist Church as well as the Methodist Women.

Survivors include one daughter; DeeAnn (Ron) Stauffer of Stockton, Missouri; three grandchildren; Shawn (Dianna) Stauffer of Waxahachie, Texas, Kirk (Tammy) Andersen of Morrison, Colorado; and, Matthew (Rachel) Stauffer of Stockton, Missouri; son-in-law, Dennis “Andy” Andersen of Centennial, Colorado; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
