Annie Mae (Bird) May-McCloskey, 83 of Bertram passed away December 6, 2014. She was born north of Bertram in Burnet County on January 25, 1931, to Harvie and Froney (Huggins) Bird.
Ann is survived by her husband John C. McCloskey of Riverside, CA; her sons Perry Edwin May of Golden Valley, AZ and Billy Frank May of Burnet County and three step-sons. Annie is also survived by five grandchildren, Robert, Joshua, Kenneth, Cassandra, and Jon; six great grandchildren Dylan, Austin, Alfonzo, Vivian, Victoria, and Levi. She is also survived by sisters Billie JoAnn Amidon of Bertram, Adarene Wilson of Killeen and a brother Blackston Edwin Bird of Gatesville, and many nieces and nephews.
Ann started her married life in Port Lavaca where she lived until 1966 when she and her sons moved to Riverside, CA. She retired from the California Prison System in 1997 where she was a correctional officer for 29 years. For the past seven years she has made her home in Bertram with her sister Billie Amidon.
A visitation for family and friends of Ann will be held Friday evening, December 12th from 6 -8 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. The funeral will be conducted Saturday afternoon December 13th at 2: PM at Victory Baptist Church in Burnet. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bertram.
Pallbearers named were Perry May, Robert May, Joshua May, Austin May, Dylan May and Kenneth Walton. Those named as honorary pallbearers were Ronald Tucker and Camron Smith.
