Mrs. Nugen Dies At 92
Mrs. Emma Mae Nugen, 92, Fairfield, died Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks.
Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned Gillum officiating. Burial will be in the Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Mrs. Nugen leaves 133 direct descendants, including three children, 11 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 72 great-great-grandchildren.
She was born Dec. 13, 1880 at New London, Iowa, the daughter of Charles H. and Ida May Windland Hill. She married to John P. Nugen Aug. 8, 1895. He died Aug. 16, 1930.
Mrs. Nugen had been a resident of this community for 55 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving children are Mrs. Nellie Mae Garrison, Mrs. Della Thompson and Mrs. Erma Dorothy, all of Fairfield. Other survivors are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Elsie Kendal, Tipton; Mrs. Della Wells, Hannibal, Mo.; Gordon Hill, Monroe, Mo.; and Edgar Hill, New London, Mo.
