Retired Attorney

Frederick T. Iddings, 76, of Port Charlotte, Fla. and formerly of Foxboro died last Sunday. He was the husband of Carol Iddings.

Born in Norwood on Sept. 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Judge Frederick Iddings and Eleanor (Dallam) Iddings. Raised and educated in Sharon, he was a 1948 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Texas and a 1954 graduate of Boston University.
After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a submarine officer until 1957, when he entered the Naval Reserves, serving until 1962.

Graduated from the Boston University Law School in 1960, Mr. Iddings initially worked in a law office in Walpole before opening his own practice in Foxboro in 1961.
He had lived in Wauchula, Fla. before relocating to Port Charlotte in 1998. He was a member of Elks Lodge #2606 in Punta Gorda, Fla. and the Punta Gorda Sailing Club. He also was a life member of St. Alban’s Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Foxboro and a founding member of the Foxboro Lions Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Thomas Iddings of Norton, Matthew Iddings of Foxboro and Jon Iddings of Rehoboth; a daughter, Janice Thompson of Simpsonville, S.C.; three step-children, Michael Fullerton and Tracy Fullerton, both of Foxboro, and Elaine Rigby of Raleigh, N.C. and 11 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Nancy Robinson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 6, at 10:00 AM at St. Marks Episcopal Church, South Street, Foxboro.
