Daniel married Mary Jane Walls on Jan 31, 1906.
Daniel died in the Monongah Mine Disaster Dec 6, 1907 (Note that Daniel's stepson, William R. Walls, also died in this same mine explosion):
Daniel was in the No. 8 Mine. The Dec. 12, 1907 edition of The Daily Telegram Clarksburg, WV indicates that the body of E.B. Santee was recovered and identified on that day. (Note, this would have been Daniel as he was the only Santee killed in this disaster -- the papers got the initials wrong). The Fairmont West Virginian dated Dec. 12, 1907 indicated that E.B. Santee was age 46, married, one child, West Monongah.
Daniel's stepson, Wm R. Walls, was in mine No. 6 and he was interred in the Grove Cemetery.
