Patsey Ruth Burkett of Edmond, Oklahoma, was born January 15, 1942 in Blanchard, Oklahoma and passed away from heart complications at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, December 7, 2014.

Loved by all who met her, Patsey was known for her giving heart and love for everyone she met. She was quick to forgive and always gentle and kind. She adored her children, Eddie and Angie, and their spouses, Daina and David. Nothing thrilled her more than spending time with her grandchildren, all of whom hold her in a very special place in their hearts. She truly felt blessed by God in being given time to meet and love all eight of her great-grandchildren.

Patsey lit up the world with the joy and pure love of God. She was an angel given to Earth for a short amount of time, but the impact she made was immeasurable. She touched everyone who ever had the absolute pleasure of meeting her in a very special way. She molded her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren into the people they are, people she would be proud of.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otha and Josie Mae Aday, sister, Nadine, brother, Don, son, Robert Charles Burkett and in-laws, Charles and Margaret Burkett.

She is survived by her son, Eddie Burkett and wife Daina, daughter, Angie Barton and husband David, grandchildren Susan, Donnie, Becky, Jason, Tony, Michael, Daniel, Cheyla, Nikki and Ben, great-grandchildren Kaia, Cody, Kaden, Keiley, Zander, Jaxson, Tucker, Elijah and one on the way, sister, Maxine Cossey and ex-husband, Lee Burkett.

Heaven rejoiced in the welcoming of Patsey, for no one could make a better angel. She is at peace now and she will forever be remembered with adoration and deep everlasting love. Go answer your call.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Classen Boulevard Baptist Church, 9215 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, Oklahoma.
