Betty Jane (Dobler) Long, 84, of Rockford, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, in Neighbors Nursing Home, Byron. Born Aug. 4, 1930, in Rockford, the daughter of Ernest and Anne (Schultz) Dobler. Graduate of West High School. She married Conrad Long June 8, 1957, in Trinity Lutheran Church. Betty was a secretary at Sundstrand's Investors Diversified Services for many years. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Sarah Circle and for many years drove the Sunday morning bus and van to provide transportation for church members to attend church services. Betty was active with the Jefferson High School Fans Association and was awarded the J-Hawk of the Year for 1985-86.

She is survived by her husband, Conrad; sons, David "Squeak" Long of Rockford and Alan "AJ" (Julie) Long of Machesney Park; daughter-in-law, Janet Long of Rockford; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by granddaughter, Eva Long.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with Rev. Jay Quinn officiating. Visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the funeral home.

Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Neighbors Alzheimer Care, 811 W. Second St., Byron, IL 61010
