Hazel E. Ross, daughter of Alice (Hampton) Werner and Fredrick Samuel Werner was born January 23, 1913 near Arispe, IA. Hazel went Union County country school and later attended Arispe High School.
Hazel married LeRoy Ross in Creston, Ia. January 25, 1930 they settled and lived in the Arispe and Shannon City areas where she lived her entire life. Hazel was busy homemaker and mother. Hazel also was busy in her garden until her retirement in August of 2005.
Hazel is survived by a daughter Josephine (husband Gary) of Maryville, Mo.; two sons Richard (wife Joyce) Ross of Shannon City and David (wife Virginia) Ross of Shannon City; sister-in-law Verda Werner; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, daughter Gertrude, a sister Ethel, and five brothers Art, John, Harry, Keith and George Werner.
