Earnest Dean Bailey, 71, of Bluefield, WV formerly of Panther, WV, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his residence.
Dean was born September 24, 1943 in Panther, WV a son of the late Harry A. Bailey (1918-1978) and Hazel Roberts-Bailey (1918-Deceased). Dean was a member of the Horse Creek Church of the Living God. Dean retired from McDowell County Board of Education. He served as a Principal at Davy and Panther Elementary Schools as well as a teacher at Iaeger High School, Big Creek High School, Mt. View High School, Bartley Middle School and Pocahontas High School. He was a graduate of Bluefield State College, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree. He received his Master Degrees from West Virginia University.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Belinda Gail Bailey (1971-1978) and one brother, Harley Bailey (Deceased).
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Barbara Jo Walker-Bailey of the home; one son Earnest Dean Bailey Jr. "JR" of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Shellie Lynn Bailey and husband Charlie Pinnix of Cornelius, NC; one stepgrandson, Brandon Pinnix of Cornelius, NC; one sister, Glennis Blankenship of Welch, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jonathan Hunt officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
