Joseph Norman Poissons ("Joe"), of Narrows, Virginia. 73 years of age. Retired Master Sergeant in The United States Army. Served over 20 years of service in the Army with having served in war in Korea and 3 tours in Viet Nam and also served in Germany. Member of the VFW and American Legion and a devoted member of Bethel Chapel Church in the Clendennin Community near Narrows, Virginia. Son of the late Louis and Roseanna Beaupre Poissons. Husband to Helen Raymond Poissons whom he so lovingly called her, "The Babe". Father to 3 daughter's, Grace "Chickie" Bandecchi and her husband, Matthew of Peterstown, West Virginia., Robin Burroughs of Dummer, New Hampshire., and Gail Pease and her husband, Alan of Peterstown, West Virginia. Also the father to 2 son's, Wayne Skillin of Narrows, Virginia., and Robert Skillin and his wife of Narrows, Virginia. Brother to Theresa Brake of Belmont, New Hampshire. Grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Passed Away on a Tuesday Morning at Roanoke Memorial Hospital located in Roanoke, Virginia.
The family held Visitation on Thursday, April 13, 2006, From 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, Virginia. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, April 14, 2006, at 2:00 P.M., at Bethel Chapel Church in Narrows, Virginia, with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Interment followed in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Virginia. Funeral arrangements and The Poissons Family were served by Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, Virginia.
