Published in The Paducah Sun, Paducah, McCracken Co., Ky., 8 Aug 2012 - Rev. William O. (Bill) Gamblin, 90, of Paducah passed away at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012, at his daughter's residence.

Rev. Gamblin was a Baptist minister for 54 years, a member of East Baptist Church, retired pastor of several churches in Western Kentucky and in the Western States. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked for 10 years at Hank Brothers True Value.

He is survived by two daughters, Janice Gamblin (Tom) Butler of Paducah and Rebecca Gamblin (Kenny) Rowland of Wickliffe, Ky.; one son, John W. (Mary Ann) Gamblin of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Barbara Nell Watkins of Paducah and Martha Riley of Baton Rouge, La.; seven grandchildren, Leah (Chip) Dutchik, Katie (Jason) Martin, Lacey (Kenny) Rodgers, Sara Rowland, Meghan Rowland, Tom (Gail) Butler Jr. and Amy Butler; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Chico.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Aileen Covington Gamblin; and one brother, Curtis Gamblin. His parents were Ethel "Dutch" and Lillian Frances Holland Gamblin.

Services for Rev. Gamblin will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Curtis Harrell and Rev. Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wickliffe, Ky.
