Hinesville - R. Lance Dykes, 46, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Liberty Regional Medical Center.


He was a native of Savannah and a lifelong resident of Hinesville. He was a 1980 graduate of the University of Georgia. He was the owner of Dykes Rental Company in Hinesville and a member of First United Methodist Church in Hinesville. Mr. Dykes was preceded in death by his parents, Carl R. and Dorothy A. Dykes, and a brother, Carl Edwin Dykes.


Survivors: two daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Adam Price of Hinesville, Katherine F. Dykes of Midway; sister, Debbie Dykes Metts of Hinesville; half-sister, Carlyn Brunton of London, England; and several nieces and nephews.


Visitation: 6:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.


Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at First United Methodist Church.

Burial: Hinesville Cemetery.


Remembrances: In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to a charity of the donor's choice.
