John F. Brymesser, 88, formerly of Orange Street, Carlisle, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle. He was born Monday, May 6, 1918, in Carlisle, and was a son of the late Clarence Brymesser and Audrey (Fogelman) Brymesser.
John was a 1936 graduate of Carlisle High School and served as an armed guard on merchant ships in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He retired from AMP Inc. in Carlisle and had also worked as a carpenter for many years at the former Federal Equipment Co. in Carlisle.
John was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Carlisle, the Cumberland Star Masonic Lodge No. 195 and the Harrisburg Consistory.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret E. (Albright) Brymesser, who died in 1970, and a brother, Freeman Brymesser.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Helen (Shulenberger) Brymesser; a brother, Harold Brymesser; two nephews; and a niece.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m.Wednesday in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Monica J. Ouellette and the Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with a Masonic service to be held at 1:15 p.m.
