Edwina Agnes Jenkins, 81, passed away Friday November 28, 2014 surrounded by family in her beautiful log home that she and Virgil built together.
Edwina was born Oct. 26, 1933 in Havre, Montana to Patrick and Juanita (Clayborn) LaSalle. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint, ID., and married Virgil Jenkins in her senior year.
Edwina served her community for over 30 years by volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Daughters and the Veteran’s Pow Wow. In 2007 she received a community service award for her dedication to the community.
Her love for people and selfless acts of kindness became a hallmark that touched a multitude of lives. She loved her family greatly and took many under her wing. Her favorite saying was “Love greatly and forgive always“.
Edwina is survived by two daughters, Christine (Dennis) Starks of Nice, CA., and Janette (Will) Sizemore of White City, OR.; four sisters, Carol Wilks, Judy Pierce, Rita LaSalle and Bonnie Stevens; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Sams Valley Community Church, 10663 Meadows Rd., White City, OR. with a reception immediately following the service. A committal service will take place that afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
