Bill R. Stephenson, 95, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Oct. 8, 1910, in Hartselle to Fred Aubrey Stephenson and Ludie Jane Watson Stephenson. He retired from Ingalls Shipyard. He was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. His son, Jimmy F. Stephenson; and a sister, Jamae Mitchell, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mildred Morris Stephenson; one daughter, Janie S. Nolen and her husband, Charles, of Hartselle; one daughter-in-law, Betty S. Harpe; three grandchildren, Suzanne Stephenson, Jennifer Garner and Fred Stephenson; and five great-grandchildren, Wesley Emerson, Stratton Garner, Stedman Garner, Maggie Stephenson and Sarah Stephenson.
Pallbearers will be Fred Stephenson, Stratton Garner, Stedman Garner, Jeff Garner, Milton Morris, Jack Morris, Wayne Allen and Floyd Bowers.
