Funeral services were held at St. Jules Catholic Church at a 2 pm Mass for Abel Lanclos, 72, who died in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Sunday morning.
Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ida Lavergne Lanclos, Lafayette; three sons, Elton Lanclos, Washington and Louis Lanclos and Jimmy Lanclos, both of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Lee Allen (Ramona) Simon Sr, of Lafayette, Mrs. Bradley (Anna ( Menard, dusson, 21 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Freddie (Martha) Smith, Lafayette, and Mrs. Andrew (Edith) Benoit, Mire; three brothers, Elie Lanclos Opelousas, Marion Lanclos, Beaumont, Texas and Theo Lanclos of New Orleans.
Mr. Lanclos was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Ada L. Richard and two brothers, Antoine Lanclos and David Lanclos.
A native of Arnaudville and resident of Lafayette for the past 30 years, Mr. Lanclos was the son of the late Louis James Lanclos and the former Corinne Kidder, both natives of Arnaudville. He was a retired offshore food service cook and a former school crossing guard for the Sheriff's department. He was an usher for St. Jules Church and St. Genevieve Church.
