Eleanor C. Barker, 44, wife of J. Don Barker, 3810 B Avenue NE died in a Cedar Rapids Hospital Monday at 7:15 p.m. after a lingering illness. Born July 4, 1909 in Cedar Rapids, she had lived here all her life.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Shirley Ann, at home; her father, William J. Dochterman, and six brothers, William J. Jr., Louis J., Jerome, Robert, Melvin and Mervin, all of Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Barker was a member of the Royal Neighbors and Degree of Honor, Carrie Morcombe, No. 2.
The body is at the Monahan Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Church by the Rt. Rev Msgr D. J. Lenihan. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
