JENNINGS: Carleen Jennings, 78, of Oroville, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, in Oroville. Arrangements are under the direction of Ramsey Funeral Home, 534-3877.

Her Legacy… Carleen (Shields) Jennings passed away on
November 29, 2014, in Oroville, CA following an extended
illness. She was born to her parents, Arnett Edward and Helen Shields, in Niangua, MO, on February 28, 1936, but grew up in Carmichael, CA. In 1954, she married her husband,“Gene” Jennings and moved to Stockton, CA. After thirteen years she returned to Carmichael and graduated from Sacramento City College as a Nurse. In 1970, Carleen and her two sons, Randal and Allen, together with their good friends,the Cooper Family, were fortunate enough to move to Hawaii for one year where she worked as a Nurse at Kaiser Hospital.In 1971 she relocated with her sons to Oroville, CA and began her career working for a physician in private practice. She then became employed at Oroville Hospital where she worked for more than thirty years. Carleen was very dedicated to her family and was an avid quilter.

Her Family… She is survived by her son, Allen Jennings
(Robbie) of Oroville; her three grandsons, Spencer Jennings
(Renea) of Oroville, David Jennings (Sage) of Citrus Heights,and Hunter Jennings of Oroville. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Kole (Les) of Bayfield, Colorado; sister-in-law Nancy Shields of Ogden, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Jennings, of Stockton, CA; her son, Randal Eugene Jennings,of Oroville, CA; her brother, Paul Warren Shields, of Ogden,Utah; and her twin sister, Kathleen (Kay) (Shields) Kenshol of Hermiston, Oregon.

Her Farewell Service…Services will be held Saturday, March
14, 2015, in Oroville, CA. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to all the special friends and family who have helped us and been so understanding through her last few years. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the
Chico Rotary Club for the Randal Jennings Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
