Margaret Lucille White was born March 9, 1917, at Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Archie and Minnie (Swords) White. She was raised and educated in Minot and united in marriage to Lawrence Tofteland on March 13, 1937, at Minot. They made their home in the Antler area, until moving to the Sawyer area in 1950. She cooked meals for Vix Coal Mine workers for a number of years, and once operated Lignite Corner Bar and Grocery, south of Sawyer. Lawrence died in June of 1961.
She moved into Sawyer and was employed with Valley Service Cafe. She was married to Ralph Wills on June 14, 1963. They made their home in the Sawyer and Velva areas. Ralph died March 23, 2002.

Margaret was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sawyer. She was also a member of the Sawyer Senior Citizens, Eagles Auxiliary of Minot and Velva Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and took special interest in cooking for family and friends.
