Services for Edward Aalbers, 72, were held November 21, 1998 at the Second Reformed Church in Pella, Iowa. Rev. Marinus Spierenburg officiated the services. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella, Iowa.

Edward passed away November 18, 1998 at the Pella regional Health Center-Long Term Care Unit.

Edward Aalbers, the youngest of four children born to Gerrit A. and Maggie [Poortinga] Aalbers, was born on June 1, 1926 northwest of Otley, Iowa. Edward attended the Pleasant View Country School northwest of Otley, Iowa. On August 8, 1946 he was united in marriage with Betty Marie Terpstra at the Otley Reformed Church. To this union a daughter, Peggy was born. Edward loved to fish and farm. He farmed all of his life until he and Betty moved to Pella in 1980. He also worked for Vermeer from 1969 until his retirement in 1983. Edward was a member of the Second Reformed Church and served as the church custodian from 1983-1989.
Survived by his wife Betty of Pella, Iowa; their daughter and her husband Jonathan DeNooy of Pella, Iowa; a granddaughter, Jessica Lynne Allen. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Marinus & Frank Aalbers; and a sister Hattie [Mrs. Matthew Olivier].
