Melba Gilmore, 85, was born April 08, 1921 in Waldo, Arkansas to Henry L. and Nobie Askew. She died April 10, 2006 in Bethany, OK. Melba was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her church and her friends in it were a very important part of her life. Melba attended Meridian Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and granddaughter. Her survivors include son Edwin and wife Debbie of Tampa, FL; sister Lou Kirspel of Shreveport, LA; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home 1401 NW 23rd.
