Son of John Harley Eddy & Mary Jane Kidder of Elk Creek Township. He married Edna Louise Dalrymple on 13 February 1917. He is a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve Auxiliary in Conneaut, Ohio from 29 July 1943 to 30 September 1945. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Seaman 1st Class (S1c). Carl & Edna were the parents of Mildred Josephine Eddy Shaw, Viola Jane Eddy Wright, Leroy Carl Eddy, Robert Edward Eddy, Madeline Gertrude Eddy Hecker, & Florence Mae Eddy Loomis. Their son Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran having served overseas in World War II.
