Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel A. Obermeier, 70, a former resident of 1020 W. Anna who died Sunday in an Aurora hospital, will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Messiah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Larry Casper officiating. Interment will be made in the Westlawn Cemetery (Further funeral arrangements omitted here.) The Obermeiers had resided at the hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Mable A. Obermeier was born August 13, 1904, on a farm near Aurora, the daughter of Joseph and Julia Mathews Bigger. She received her education in the Aurora Schools and grew to womanhood in the community. She and Carl H. Obermeier were married Jan. 30, 1924, in Council Bluffs. They made their home on a farm northwest of Giltner, and continued to farm in Hamilton County all their life, retiring in October of 1954 and moving to the Grand Island community. Mrs. Obermeier moved to the Hamilton Manor in March of this years. Mrs. Obermeier had been employed as a cook in several local cafes until her retirement in 1971. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Donald of Giltner and Joseph of Grand Island; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Doris) Lange of Aurora and Mrs. Elaine Dukesherer of Pittsburg, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Bigger of Aurora; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Henthorn of Aurora, Mrs. Pearl Wilson of Lincoln, Mrs. Laura Stokesbary of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Connell of Chapman. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
