Obituary
The Richfield Monitor (Richfield, Kansas June 8 1889
On Friday evening, May 31st, at about 8 o'clock the spirit of Mrs Eliza Haines, wife of Isaac L Haines and mother of JM and Chas S Haines, took its flight to that realm from whence no traveler returns.
At the time of dissolution the lady was 65 years, 5 months and 3 days of age, the immediate cause of death being chronic pleurlsy.
Mrs Haines was born in Logan County Ohio, December 27 1823, her maiden name being Bushong.
She lived with parents at the birth place until 1858, twenty five years, migrating with them at the time to Lynnville, Iowa, meeting there Mr Isaac L Haines whom she married on December 1860.
She leaves to mourn her death a husband and only two children, the result of union with Mr Haines.
Having became a member of the Christian Church at the age of eighteen years, she has since lived a consistent and devoted member thereof.
She was taken ill on the way from Iowa here in March, never recovering.
The funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church on Saturday Evening by the Rev JW Cecil , assisted by Rev Mills, the Methodist minister of this place, after which the remains were followed by many of our people to Grand View Cemetery and the mortal remains witnessed laid to rest of a noble wife and devoted mother.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community in their loss and for which thanks are offered elsewhere in this paper.
