Helmer was the only sibling who was born in the US. The family surname was Rapp in Sweden, but Helmer's father, Carl Johan, born in Dalsland, Sweeden, changed the family name to Lundgren when they arrived in New York. Helmer owned bakeries first in Hallock, MN & then Bozeman, MT (the Golden Crust). He loved to sing and to play the ukelele. After he retired he and Ora moved to Three Forks, MT.
