Fernand A. Campbell, 83, of Orleans VT passed away on November 24, 2014 in Newport. He was born on May 19, 1931 in Orleans VT to Donat and Jeanne (Stewart) Campbell. On September 6, 1958 he married Monique LeBlond who predeceased him on July 5, 2011.

Fernand was born on the farm that he later owned and operated with his brother Raymond. Music was always such a big part of his life. He had a wonderful voice and played the guitar and a little piano. He always sang in the church choirs and would often sing solo. In his younger years, he had a small band and played music for weddings. In his later years he played music at area nursing homes. It was such a joy to hear him sing. He was a member of the Knights Of Columbus 3rd Degree and St Theresa’s Catholic Church in Orleans.

When he retired from farming, he traveled to Florida with family and friends in motorhomes for part of the winter. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He was hard to beat, he usually won. He loved all the family gatherings and visits. After Monique passed, Fernand was cared for in his home by several care givers. He was so pleased to be at home and he greatly enjoyed and appreciated his care givers. He enjoyed them and cared about them.

He is survived by his children : Denise King and her husband Wayne of Williamstown, VT, Carmen Riendeau and her husband Reginald of Orleans VT, Louise Campbell and her husband Norman Fortin of Holland VT, and Francis Campbell and his companion Rhonda Cole of Newport Center VT. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, by his brother Raymond Campbell of Orleans VT and by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 28, 2014 at St Theresa’s Catholic Church in Orleans with The Rev. Timothy Naples celebrating a mass of Christian Burial. Spring interment in St Theresa’s Cemetery, Orleans. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Paul’s School, 54 Eastern Ave Barton VT 05822.
