Henrietta Ausdemore
Services for Henrietta Ausdemore, 83, Norfolk, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The Rev. Jack Williams will officiate with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk.
She died Friday, June 14, 2002 at Faith Regional Health Services.
The daughter of Henry and Lillie (Bruhn) Sass was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Bloomfield.
She attended rural school at Bloomfield and graduated from Bloomfield High School
in 1936. She married Edward Ausdemore on Dec. 30, 1939 at O'Neill. The couple farmed in the Bloomfield area before moving to Norfolk in 1963. She was a dietitian for more
than 19 years at the Norfolk Veteran's Home until retiring in 1982. She then worked as a cook at Mary's Cafe in Norfolk until 2000.
Mrs. Ausdemore was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Norfolk and the Ruth
Circle. She was also a member of Aid Association of Lutherans, Birthday Club and the Retired Veterans Home Employees. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include one son, James of Norfolk; four daughters and their husbands, Arvis and Victor Porath of Norfolk, John and Leeta Obermeyer of Hoskins, Mavis and John Janecke of Wonder Lake, Ill., and Barbara and Kevin Lange of Chadwick, Ill.; one son-in-law, Duane Chamberlain of Norfolk; 28 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, and one daughter.
