Tucker was many things during his life.

He was a soldier, serving four years in the Army in the 1960s with deployments that included Korea and two tours in Vietnam. True to his nature, he was a combat medic who helped others while earning the Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and a Vietnam Campaign Medal among other recognition.
