He was a member of the First Christian Church of Hagerstown. He had been employed as an engineer by the Penn Central Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Enginemen and Firemen. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Morris-Frock Post of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Motor Corps of the American Red Cross.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lillian P. Harbaugh, Clear Spring, and Mrs. Edna M. Williams, Hagerstown; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Kauffmann, Levittown, Pa., and six grandchildren.
Services were held at the First Chistian Church; burial was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park; arrangements were by the Norment Funeral Home.
