Neaty Goss Bodenhamer & Jacob Bodenhamer had a total of eighteen children in this union, sixteen of which lived to maturity. This family is the largest know in the Goss linage. During the civil war eleven of their sons were in uniform at some period and all but one (John) survived. The allegence was almost split between the Union and the Confederate sides.
