He was born at home on Clock St. in Champaign, Champaign County, Illinois to Leslie Owen Hinton and Hattie Blanche McAtee - Hinton.

He married Margaret Christina Hale on Dec. 14, 1947 in Saybrook, McLean County, Illinois USA. She survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Gail Seward and Cheryl Hinton, Gibson City and Cynthia (Bruce) Wilson, Gridley; two sons, Daniel (Dorothy) Hinton, DuQuoin and Christopher Hinton, Pekin; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lyle Hinton and Dwight Hinton and one sister, Phyllis Roderick.

He was employed at Illinois Power Company in Champaign, IL at age 16, transferred to the Danville, IL office & in Jul 1968 became an employee for Baldwin Associates & went to work in Baldwin, IL at the Baldwin Power Plant, then went to Havana, IL to that power plant & transferred to Clinton Nuclear Power Plant in Clinton, Illinois working as Storeroom Supervisor...retiring from Clinton

He was involved with Peace Meals for Senior Citizens, enjoyed bowling & playing bingo

In Danville, IL he was a member of Evangelical United Brethren Church which in 1968 merged with Methodist & became United Methodist, the church in Danville was torn down & is now Walgreens at the corner of Fairchild & Gilbert.

Dad is 13th generation from Jamestown Colony & 11th great grandchild of Sir Thomas Hinton(1574 - 1635) & Lady Catherine Palmer(1580 - 1609), Sir Thomas was an investor in The London Companty & a private investor of the Jamestown Colony.
