Inscription

"In Memory of
DEA. JAMES PINKERTON
who died Jan 6, AD 1829
Aged 81.
He was
an affectionate husband and father,
a faithful friend,
an undeviating patriot,
and an exemplary Christian.
His life was marked with humility,
meekness and integrity and benevolence.
His closing scene,
with peace and joyful hope.
If Jesus died and rose again,
even so them also who sleep in Jesus
will God bring with him"
