Mrs. Elsie Dora Hively, past 80 years old, died Saturday afternoon at 2;15 o'clock at her home, 1 1/2 miles east of the Hively church in Thorncreek township. She was born September 21, 1868 at the homestead where she died and was a daughter of Adam and Mary Stem Fisher.
On March 29, 56 years ago, she was united in marriage to William Hively, who died March 16, 1938. Surviving children include Walter of Tri-Lakes; Clarence of Andrews; Ervin of Elkhart; Mrs. Grace Pence of Smith twp.; Void and Alton of Thorncreek twp.; and Mrs. Edith Beard of Columbia City. There are 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Two half-brothers, Charles and Asher Fisher of Columbia City, also survive. Two brothers, a sister and half sister are dead. Interment in Hively Cemetery.
