The date of Israel Balch's death is not known, nor the location of his burial. He was declared "non compos mentis" in 1833 and a guardian (Benjamin Needham, Jr) was appointed for him. In September 1939, after the death of Benjamin Needham, Israel's son Isaac H. Balch was appointed guardian.
