JAMES BALDWIN

On Sunday (Feb. 14) morning at one-thirty, at his late residence in the north part of town occurred the death of James Baldwin, after an extended illness with a complication of troubles.
James Baldwin was born in Waterford county, Ireland, where he grew to manhood. About forty years ago he came to America and resided for some time in New York state, coming several years later to Illinois. He resided at Pekin until 21 years ago when he came to Charlotte township, and a few years ago he moved to this city, where he had since made his home.
Twenty-five years ago Mr. Baldwin was united in marriage at Tremont, Ill., with Miss Margaret Cooney, whose death occurred about twelve years ago. Mr. Baldwin is survived by five daughters, Kate, Anastacia, wife of Richard Brennan, Mary, Maggie and Nellie; one brother who reside in Nebraska; and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at SS. Peter and Paul's church, Rev. J.J. Quinn officiating, and the remains were interred at St. Patrick's cemetery.
