Vera Mae Ahring, 88, of Kansas City in Platte County, died April 8th, 2006 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, at the Avondale United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Wellington City Cemetery, Wellington, MO.
Friends may call from 12:30 P.M. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Avondale United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Mrs. Ahring was born in Lexington, Missouri, but lived in Wellington, MO, from 1918 until 1946. She graduated from Central Missouri State University and taught in Weston, Excelsior Springs and Wellington. She retired in 1984 after having served as secretary to the superintendent and Board of Education in the North Kansas City School District for eleven years.
Mrs. Ahring was a member of the Avondale United Methodist Church and a life member of the united Methodist Women. She was a member of the CMSU Alumni Association, the North Kansas City Hospital Auxiliary, the clay County Retired Teachers Association, and the Retired Teachers Association of Missouri and The North Kansas City Retired Secretaries Association, and the Midlands United Methodist Cursillo.
