Clarice grew up on a dairy farm with her 3 brothers and graduated from Mellen High School in 1955. Shortly after high school, she was married and began raising her family of what would be six children. Clarice attended WITI in Ashland for accounting and then worked in an accounting office in Mellen for many years. She continued her schooling and later became an LPN. While working as an LPN at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls, she completed her Registered Nursing degree at WITI in Ashland and began work as an RN. She moved to Scappoose, Oregon in 1983 and worked there as an RN until 1992. In 1992, she moved back to the Bass Lake area and worked at several area nursing homes as an RN until her retirement.
Clarice was always a very hard worker her entire life. From working on the family farm as a child with her 3 brothers, cutting boughs and making wreaths, peeling pulp logs, farming and finally putting herself through nursing school and obtaining her nursing degree, her family was very proud of her work ethic and self reliance.
Her interests included, gardening, canning, quilting, sewing and doing many arts and crafts and she handed many of those talents down to her children. Throughout her life, Clarice was also involved in her community as an EMT and Firefighter, in her Sunday/Bible Schools for her church and in the Highbridge Hummingbirds/Bass Lake Beachers 4H Clubs.
She is survived by her 6 children, Michael (Sharon) Warren - Canby, OR, Steven "Swamp Buck" (Becky) Warren - Highbridge, Kim Warren Schlies - Duluth, Lori (Dave) Janz - Mellen, Vicki (Rusty) Watson - Molalla, OR and Kari Adler - Ashland, 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Bekah, Theodore, Justin, Breanne, Danielle, Kelsey, Jacey, Devin, Alaina, Larina, Brandell and Caleb, 7 great-grandchildren, a brother, Carl (Chris) Dale - Alaska, nieces, nephews and her special companion, Bobcat.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Timothy Schlies and 2 brothers, Clarence and Clem Dale.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland is assisting the family with arrangements.
