JUSTIN - Bobby Ray Franks, 60, of Justin went to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Denton Regional Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 31, 1945, in Fort Worth to Harold O. and Dorothy Bledsoe Franks. He graduated from Northwest High School, and attended Tarleton State University and Texas A&M University, where he was in the Corps. He was a member of the Justin Masonic Lodge. He married Doris Mercer on March 5, 1971, in Denton. He was the owner of Justin Built Barns and Fencing.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 19, at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 402 W. 8th St. in Justin with the Rev. John Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Justin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pete Mitchell, Bill Mitchell, Chris Neely, Richard Morris, Doug Prcin and Brett Burton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Holloway, Curtis Tally, Bill Bryson and Clavin Peterson.
He is survived by wife, Doris Franks, of Justin; daughter, Heather Lyn and husband, Terry Neal Johnson, of Pilot Point; mother, Dorothy Franks, of Weatherford; sister, Geraldine and husband, Billy Jack Hackler, of Lubbock; brother, Leland and wife, Rita Franks, of Haslet; mother-in-law, Lorene Mercer, of Denton; several nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father.
