Edmund P. Magner, 89, passed away November 21, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 63 years M. Theresa (Gamache) Magner.
Born in Burrillville (Pascoag), RI he was a son of the late Edmond and Cora (Tessier) Magner.
Mr. Magner worked for Hanover Insurance, Providence Washington Insurance and retired as Vice President of Metropolitan P&C Insurance Company.
He was a US Army WWII veteran with the rank of Sergeant serving with the 75th Infantry. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was a 1948 graduate of Providence College, a 1950 graduate of Georgetown University and was a former president of the EG Library Board. Beside his wife he is survived by two children
His funeral was held on Tuesday from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
