Mr. Fred Reece Adkins, 75, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Sampson Regional Medical Center, in Clinton , NC.
He was born on May 19, 1937, in Cumberland County, NC to the late Arthur Thomas Adkins, and Mamie Barefoot Adkins.
Fred was the founder of CTS Cleaning Systems Inc. He was a mason since May of 1966, being a member of Creasy Proctor Lodge No.679 AF & AM and Phoenix Lodge No.8 AF&AM. He was also a active member of the Hope Mills Shrine Club and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his wife Gloria Adkins and a son Fred Reese Adkins, II.
He is survived by a Son, Rodney L. Adkins and his wife, Julia, of Fayetteville, NC; Two Brothers: William Adkins, and his wife Charlotte, of Parkton, MD and James Adkins, and his wife Jean, of Fayetteville, NC; Two Sisters: Lettie Ragan, of Fayetteville, NC and Jackie Miller, of Hope Mills, NC; Daughter-in-law Ruthie Hemingway, of Fayetteville, NC; four Grandchildren, Fred Reese III, Amanda, Elizabeth, and Ethan; two Great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Loriann.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mamie Adkins Educational Fund in memory of Fred Reece Adkins to Tabernacle Baptist Church 3219 Lindsay Road Raeford, NC 28376.
