Rev. Homer H. Kurth, 99, of Alma, MO, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, at The Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Wesemann officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2014, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Alma. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born August 12, 1915, in Offerle, KS, he was the son of the late A.C. Kurth and Lena Weiss Kurth. On June 15, 1941, he married Evelyn Weber who preceded him in death on July 29, 2002. He was a graduate of St. John’s Academy in Winfield, KS, St. John’s College in Winfield and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He lived in Alma since 1964 where he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a retired minister having served Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Greenleaf, KS, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Meade, KS, Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Block, KS and Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma.

Survivors include five children: Robert Kurth and wife, Joyce, of Alma, Nola Pollman of Lincoln, NE, Walter Kurth and wife Fredelyn, of San Tan Valley, AZ, Arthur Kurth and wife, Sue, of Grain Valley, MO, and Thomas Kurth and wife, Tracy, of Alma; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Wilma Lancaster of Offerle, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow, Reinhart and Gerhart Kurth; and two sisters, Gertrude Witte and Vera Buss.
