They moved to Lubbock, TX in 1922. Mrs. Hicks continued living in Lubbock until moving to Hawley, TX to live with her son and wife Charlie and Mary Hicks in 1962.
Mr. Hicks died in 1951.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by 4 sons: C.D. (Mary) Hawley, Elbert (Nora), Meadow, TX., Emmet (Charm), McCaulley, TX, and Roy (Inez) Nederland, TX.
3 daughters: Ethel (Arch) Hurley, Amarillo, TX, Ruby (Oscar) Winchester, Boynton Beach, FL. and Eula Wood, Ft Worth, TX.
2 sisters: Carrie Coppedge and Mary Miranda Luttrell.
29 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Jane Mobley and brother William Carrey Mobley. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist since childhood.
Services were held at the Weathersbee Chapel in Rotan, TX March 14,1965 with her grand son-in-law Rev. Phillip Goodrum officiating.
Burial was in Belvieu Cemetery at Rotan.
