Lucious Babbs, 86, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Mulvaney, at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after an illness of many years.
The funeral will be at the Mulvaney home at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in Brooks Grove cemetery.
He was born in Brownstown, Ind., October 22, 1854, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Babbs. He moved to Illinois with his parents at the age of six and lived in Stanford since 1914. For the last several years he had made his home with his daughter. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Sparks in 1879. The wife and three children preceded him in death.
Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Mulvaney, and one son, Hillard, both of Stanford; a half brother, David Humphreys of Sharpsburg; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
