Leroy Harvey "Pean" Saltzgiver, of Hanover, departed this life April 8.

Born in West Manheim Township, he was a son of the late George and Grace (Lippy) Saltzgiver.

Mr. Saltzgiver was an active member of Calvary Bible Church, Hanover, where he was especially known for his work with children. At the age of 16, he joined the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company and continued as a member for over 55 years. Mr. Saltzgiver was a partner in Saltzgiver's Ford Tractor Inc., Hanover, and was a member at large of Youth For Christ in Hampstead, Md.

He was the husband of 54 years to Doris (Warner) Saltzgiver and surviving, in addition to her, is a son, David Saltzgiver of Spring Grove; two daughters, Diane Saltzgiver of Hanover and Dorcas Klug of Hanover; one sister, Ruth Myers of Hanover; four brothers, George Saltzgiver, Jr., of Hanover, Robert Saltzgiver, of East Berlin, William Saltzgiver, of Hanover, Larry Saltzgiver, of Hanover; one step-grandson; and two step-great-grandchildren.
