Conesville. - Word has been received here from Mrs. Clara Cecil of Farmington, Mich., telling of the death of her father, J. L. Stemen, which occurred April 30 at Farmington. Burial was made there Monday. Mr. Stemen, a veterinarian was a resident here for many years, leaving here in 1915 to go into business at Riverside.

Former Resident of Riverside Dies in Michigan Home
Riverside - Word has been received by friends here of the death of Dr. J. L. Stemen at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clara Cecil at Farmington, Mich., last Saturday after more than a year's illness.
Dr. Stemen was 76 years of age. He was born in Clarinda, Ia., and is survived by three children, Mrs. Cecil of Farmington, Mich., Mrs. Faithe Wedel of Detroit, Mich., and Lester of Monroe, Ia.
Dr. Stemen practiced veterinary medicine here for several years, leaving Riverside about three years ago.
Funeral services were held Monday at Farmington.
