He was the son of the late John and Catherine Van Cleaver Pifer of York Springs. He was born June 8, 1881 in York Springs and had been a native of that community all his life with the exception of the past four years, which were spent in Little Rock.
Mr. Pifer had been a carpenter by trade. His second wife the former Myra Dempsey, proceeded him in death in March of this year.
He is survived by a son: Lewis W. Pifer of Orange, N.J.; and a brother: L.C. Pifer of Ocala, Fla.; also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services held at the Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Church, with the Rev. Rulon Christenson, officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Little Rock.
