ABBOTT, RICHARD S. - age 68, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Preceded in death by his father, Richard; mother, Ruby; sisters, Patricia and Peggy Jean. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Peggy Jo Tharpe Abbott; his loving and devoted niece, Shala Marie Fairchild and her husband Josh; brother, Steve (Shelia) Abbott; sisters, Charlotte (John) Dugan, Candice Moore; special friend, Ronnie Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, in Weaver's chapel on Western Avenue, with service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m., Sunday, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa Highway, for a 2:00 p.m. interment.
